Ellis County Detachment, 1452
Department of Texas, Southern Division
Marine Corps League Inc.
This meeting is to wrap-up all loose ends from the recent Marine Corps Birthday Ball. This meeting is meant only for the Commandant, Paymaster and the Public Relations/Information Officer.
This meeting is conducted monthly in order to ensure that progress is being made in regards to the different projects and programs of the detachment. This meeting also allows us to ensure that the administrative functions of the detachment are being handled in accordance with proper procedures by the Marine Corps League National Headquarters, the Texas Secretary of State and the Federal Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
The November 2018 monthly meeting has been moved from the last Thursday of the month (29th) to the last Monday of the month (26th) due to the Detachment's participation in the Ennis Parade of Lights in downtown Ennis, Texas on the 29th. This meeting is conducted monthly in order to bring all of the members together to be able to conduct business for the nonprofit corporation. This is an opportunity for all members to have their voices heard and their votes to be counted on any topic that is brought before the membership. All members are highly encouraged to attend these meetings and bring someone that might be interested in joining the detachment. If you are interested in at least finding more out about the detachment and do not know someone that you can attend with, please feel free to contact the detachment at: 360-808-0604 for more information.
This is the annual Parade of Lights held in downtown Ennis, Texas. Our Color Guard will march our Colors in the parade and we will have a truck and trailer following in pursuit with many members riding along and showing our support of our community. This is a great opportunity for members and fellow Marines alike to join together and celebrate this time of year with one another.
This is the Detachment's monthly breakfast get-together where members and guests are able to spend time in camaraderie and fellowship among one another. This is a great time to pass the latest Scuttlebutt (Rumor-mill) and reminisce about the days of old, telling war stories and lending an ear to those that may be in need. Attending one of these breakfasts' allows the member or the guest to feel a sense of belonging and purpose upon leaving a band of brothers as you go back to your normal everyday life responsibilities.
The monthly meeting for December 2018 will be cancelled due to the close proximity of Christmas day to this event. We will pick back up regularly scheduled monthly meetings in January 2019.
